Tolerant people know Christianity is a spectrum. Antiquated notions of “saved” versus “unsaved” or “Christ-like” versus “wordly” have no place in a woke, modern, loving society. Even well-meaning people show latent bigotry in phrases like, “not religious, but spiritual.” Worse is a belief that God has standards different from someone’s personal preferences. The proper term for those who sometimes identify as
disciples, and sometimes identify as godless heathen, is a
bisciple.
Bisciples bravely say and do whatever is most popular, or easiest, in a given moment. They simultaneously claim the warm fuzzies attached to saying “Jesus loves me, this I know.” This term applies to those who identify as both “saved” and “unsaved,” or as “interested” and “disinterested.” While cisfaith persons use terms like “saint” or “sinner,” bisciples prefer terms such as “stainer,” “ununbeliever,” or “progressive.”
Tolerant people know the term “Christian” means whatever each person wants it to mean. No one has the right to say someone else’s perception of faith is wrong. Obviously, anyone who doesn’t completely accept that statement is a hateful bigot who deserves to be cancelled and punched in the face.
Please note, use of the term
bisciple in reference to Mormons who bike around neighborhoods in pairs is now considered a microagression.
