Raising children in the modern world is no easy task. It's common for people to look at the cost, stress, and commitment of children and opt for an appliance, instead. Grills, especially, are a popular alternative to having kids. You can ignore grills, let them accumulate dirt, and leave them outside in the snow—options which are frowned upon for youngsters. However, grills aren't as adept at expressing love, or being there to take care of you when you get old. There's nothing wrong with wanting a grill, rather than a boy, but it's a decision you need to address with your spouse in a loving way.
You might also consider a compromise. If you and your spouse have children, you might be able to find a neighbor or church member willing to let you borrow their grill from time to time. That would spare you the expense of having both a boy and a grill. It might also be the only circumstance in which your wife would allow you have a grill-friend.
On the other hand, if you buy your own grill, you can choose the color, the size, whether it has a rotisserie, and how many burners are on each side. There's a lot of options you don't get when you're
trying to choose the gender of a child.
