The "flavor of gods" is a spice that tastes like the food of the gods—ambrosia—without the calories. Presumably, it was Zeus' favorite.
Ambrosia has several different iterations, but they usually include mandarin oranges, pineapple, coconut flakes, miniature marshmallows, and some kind of dairy like sour cream or cottage cheese. Variations include cream, sugar, cherries, pecans, and Cool Whip. The kind I grew up with used pistachio pudding mix, Cool Whip, cottage cheese, mini marshmallows, and pineapple. As a kid, I could never remember the name, so I called it "green stuff," which is its name to this day.
I don't know how you would get the flavor without the calories. Depending on if you're low-sugar or low-fat, you can get the corresponding Cool Whip. You can also use fat free cottage cheese. The mandarin oranges and pineapple naturally have sugar, but you can always get unsweetened coconut flakes. Skip the marshmallows, of course.
But why would you want to? Why would you want the flavor of ambrosia without the delicious cool creaminess? Worried about calories? Just take a small serving and skip the potato chips. Delicious food in moderation is a blessing—one of the ways by which
God shows us favor.
You're not going to get that at Penzie's.
