Were infects created in geniuses?

This question was sent to us from China. Usually, Asian questioners begin by begging forgiveness for their poor English and then present their question with better grammar, spelling, and overall mastery of the English language than 95% of Americans. Including us. We can only guess that this questioner was around the age of three.

The questioner included the link to an article from the New York Post titled "Chinese virologist claims she has proof COVID-19 was made in Wuhan lab." The gist is that the virus that has infected and killed so many was developed in a Chinese government-controlled lab by scientific geniuses.

Is this true? Unfortunately, as we had to explain to our precocious Asian friend, we lack expertise in anything that could be remotely helpful, including secret Chinese virology labs, the ways of forensic DNA, and the mystery that is conspiracy theories in the age of Reddit. No, we stick to writing semi-amusing articles, finding appropriate images for aforementioned articles, and completely failing at Twitter.

So, although we do know that the creation of insects is recorded in Genesis, we don't know anything about the virus except this:
