The first medal awarded in the 2021 Olympic Games went to Yang Qian of China who won the 10-meter air rifle. She also set an Olympic record.
The first
ever medal was also awarded to a woman, Naamah. She was the daughter of Lamech and the half-sister of Jabal and Jubal.
Many know Jubal to be the inventor of stringed instruments and pipes, but what many don't know is that Naamah was the inventor of acoustic insulation. When Jubal started teaching little kids how to play proto-violins and primitive recorders, Naamah gathered cotton, coconut husk, and sheep's wool and adhered it to the walls of Jubal's classroom. She then sold her invention to the students' parents and became the richest woman in history.
Naamah received her medal in a small ceremony attended by Lamech, her mother, Zillah, her full-brother, Tubal-Cain, her father's other wife, Adah, and Adah's sons. Tubal-Cain made the award, a bronze disk, as he was the only one who knew how to
make metal.
